1. Witch hazel is a flowering shrub with many skin care benefits! Plus using witch hazel as part of your skin care regimen is eco-friendly and inexpensive! Use Witch Hazel like you would a toner. It is a natural astringent and can help fight blemishes! I love how fresh and soft my skin feels
after using Witch Hazel! I also use it during the day as a skin
refresher! Just pour a little on a cotton ball and dab on your face.
It immediately tightens pores and removes impurities while still
locking in moisture! It’s pretty remarkable!
2. Eat your fresh fruits that contain
Vitamin C but don’t forget that Vitamin C works great topically! Use it
every morning under your makeup (and under your sunscreen of course!)
3. Keeping moisture in the air is key! You may not need this extra moisture if you live in a super humid environment, but I know for myself and all my neighbors here in the west, a humidifier is essential! Soothe dry skin by sleeping with a
humidifier on through the night. In the morning, you’ll not only notice
that your face looks more supple, but your hands and lips won’t feel dry
or dehydrated either.
4. Make your own Cucumber Lemon Mask! We all dream of having glowing skin.
Unfortunately due to the stress of life, the foods we eat, and the
environment, our skin can sometimes look rather dull! The acid in the
lemon is a natural skin brightener and the cucumber cools the skin while reducing puffiness.
Cucumber Lemon Mask
1/2 Cucumber
1/2 Lemon, peeled
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
Directions:
1. Puree cucumber and lemon in blender.
2. Add the coconut oil to blender. Blend mixture on high until the container is slightly warm to the touch. You want the coconut oil to liquefy. (Coconut oil is a solid at room temperature)
3. Pour mixture into a container and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
4. Apply chilled mask to skin. Leave on 10 minutes. Place sliced Cucumbers over your eyes to decrease dark circles! Rinse and apply moisturizer.
5. Did you know that some foods contain naturally occurring salicylic acid? Salicylic acid is the active ingredient in most acne creams
and body washes found at the drug store. This berry mask will help to
combat blemish prone skin in a natural way! Berries (which you know I
love) contain some of the highest amounts of salicylic acid. Try this
mask for clean and clear skin! It’s so easy!
2 Tablespoons Blackberries
2 Tablespoons Blueberries
1 Tablespoon Almond Butter (almonds contain salicylic acid too!)
Directions
Puree the berries in a food processor.
Mix in Almond Butter. Apply to face. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse
and apply moisturizer.
